On Saturday, October 9th, Eleanor Pettit (District and Area Candidate for Wards 1 and 2) and I hosted a barbeque for constituents in MacTier. We were assisted by Councillor Tracey Fitchett, her husband Steve, Anita and Bill Pettit.

2010 Canoe for Cancer participants on the Big Chute Marine Railway

Anita and I have participated in the Canoe for Cancer for a number of years and did so again this summer.
This annual event has been an excellent way to raise money for a worthy cause.

Sometimes people joke that being a politician is all about kissing babies and shaking hands. While there is certainly more to being Mayor than that, getting to meet and know my constituents is one of the great pleasures and privileges of my job.
